It sounds counterintuitive, but the idea that strong passwords can actually decrease network security is actually quite simple.
A computer user can be reasonably expected to remember one strong password. “H6u;Y0nc” is a lot more cumbersome than “password,” but after a little bit of work the user’s muscle memory takes over and the odd password flies off the finger tips. Strong passwords take a little while to master, but they’re a lot harder for a hacker to guess! |

The evolution of server virtualization is upping the ante for storage system capabilities. With the flexibility, high performance and reliability required to support these dynamic environments, server virtualization is driving the need to upgrade server, networking and storage infrastructures. According to IDC, the growth of virtual machines is outpacing the growth of physical servers with nearly 20 percent of all servers expected to be virtual by 2010. |

The personal computer has never been more personal. Consider email, and the things people choose to write and the files they choose to attach. Security is an important element of
any Web business. When you are examining your security, you should ask yourself,
“What am I protecting? What is my crown jewel?” For a leading soft drink manufacturer,

recently had a chance to sit down with online backup provider, Intronis’, CEO
and co-founder, Sam Gutmann. In the late
1990s, while working as a small business consultant, Gutmann and his two
colleagues discovered that many of their clients were not properly backing up
their data. In 2000, the three began
researching and developing a backup service that would eliminate the need for
tapes, disks, and CDs and instead would offer an offsite, secure, and easy-to-use
backup service. After three years of
research, development, software design and testing, they launched their
foundational product, eSureIT, in 2003 and Intronis Technologies was
founded. Gutmann is a graduate of the
Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Management Information
Systems. |
